The Active Hands Company to attend 2013 Mobility Roadshow
The Active Hands Company, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of gripping aids for people with limited hand function, is set to attend the 2013 Mobility Roadshow, which will take place at the Telford International Centre from 27 – 29 June.
The company, which will be exhibiting on stand B63 at the show, will be presenting its extensive product range, which spans from general purpose gripping aids for using items such as games consoles, a hammer for DIY or a trowel for gardening, to aids specifically designed for taking on sports such as skiing or using exercise equipment at the gym.
Active Hands also offers a mini aid product designed for children under five, which helps to improve their grip with items such as the handlebars on a tricycle and is available in pink and blue.
The Active Hands Company will also be launching a new pink version of its general purpose gripping aid, to offer a colourful alternative to the original black product.
Rob Smith, Managing Director of the Active Hands Company, said:
“This year’s Mobility Roadshow marks thirty years since the event began, so we’re confident that it’ll be a very exciting one. We’re looking forward to showcasing our product range to customers old and new, and we’ll be launching a new pink version of our general purpose gripping aid to suit different tastes.”
The Active Hands Company was established in 2007 after Managing Director, Rob Smith, experienced a high-level spinal cord injury at the age of 20, which rendered him tetraplegic. Frustrated with the lack of equipment available to help with his limited hand function, Rob began to design a range of aids to enable him to live more independently.
The gripping aids proved a major success and allowed Rob to carry out a wide range of everyday tasks and activities, from household DIY to skiing in the Alps. In time, Rob and his family launched the Active Hands Company to make these products available to others with limited hand function or weak grip, including people with injuries or illnesses including spinal cord injury, stroke, MS and cerebral palsy.
Active Hands produces a range of gripping aids to help adults and children with reduced hand strength, movement or control, to grip items independently and enjoy a more active and fulfilling life. The company sells its products via an online shop and through distributors across Europe, the USA and in the UK.
