Did you know that the Mobility Roadshow is organised by a charity and receives no public funding?
Not a huge multi-national company, but a small independent registered charity, established in 1998, for the sole purpose of organising this fantastic FREE event for the benefit of people with disabilities who need help with mobility advice and services.
Mobility Choice was set up to take on the task of organising the Roadshow from the then Department for Transport, who had established the Mobility Roadshow in 1983 at the Transport Research Laboratory at Crowthorne in Berkshire, where the show ran for many years. Since 1999 the show has been run on an annual basis at a variety of venues that include Donington Park, Kemble Airfield, NAEC Stoneleigh, The Royal Highland Centre Edinburgh, Peterborough Arena, Telford International Centre, and Silverstone Circuit.
A Board of Trustees, chaired by Ann Frye OBE, former Head of the Department of Transport’s Mobility & Inclusion Unit, oversees the Charity’s work. The Charity’s primary function is to organise the Mobility Roadshow on an annual basis. Our trustees bring to the Board many years of personal and professional experience and expertise in the mobility of disabled people. You can find out more about them below.
