Accomable, the ‘Airbnb for disabled people’, to showcase 1000+ accessible holiday rentals worldwide at Mobility Roadshow

23rd May 2017

Accomable, a pioneering global platform for finding adapted hotels and vacation rentals for disabled and elderly people, will be showcasing more than 1,000 accessible stays in over 60 countries worldwide at the Mobility Roadshow from 1st -3rd June 2017 at Stand L3.

Founded in 2015 by disabled UK entrepreneur, Srin Madipalli, who taught himself to code so he could build the company, Accomable is now seen as the go-to resource for travellers looking for accessible stays.

From great value apartments and luxury hotels to accessible glamping, eco-cabins and even a far flung lodge in the Amazon rainforest, Accomable offers the world’s widest range of adapted stays to suit all budgets, and specialises in unique and unusual self-catering properties in the UK, Mediterranean and Florida.

Accomable's minimum requirements are that each property must have step-free access, at least one step-free bedroom and bathroom, and that the step-free bathroom has at least one adaptation.

Each listing contains detailed information required to make a personal decision about whether the property meets the customer's requirements such as equipment available, dimensions, door widths and floor plans.

Visit www.accomable.com and say hello to the team at STAND L3 at the Mobility Roadshow.

FACT SHEET

Accomable – the ‘Airbnb for disabled people’ with more than 1,000 accessible stays in 60 countries worldwide

  • Accomable is the world’s leading platform for booking specially adapted and accessible hotels rooms and holiday rentals, with more than 1000 adapted places to stay in over 60 countries worldwide.

  • Accomable was founded by UK disabled entrepreneurs Srin Madipalli and Martyn Sibley. Friends since childhood and regular travellers, Madipalli (who now serves as the company’s CEO) and Sibley are both wheelchair users due to a disability called SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy). Frustrated at the lack of travel information available for disabled people (and continually arriving at so-called accessible rentals which had steps!), they launched Accomable in the summer of 2015.

  • Accomable raised record funding from private investors in May 2016. The company also received funding from the Skoll Centre based at Oxford University, where Mr Madipalli did his MBA, via an initiative to support ventures that deliver social impact.

  • Accomable’s minimum requirements are that each property must have step-free access, at least one step-free bedroom and bathroom, and that the step-free bathroom has at least one adaptation.

  • Accomable offers accessible stays everywhere, from stylish country retreats, eco-cabins and adventurous choices to budget friendly inns and slick city hotels.

  • Accomable has partnered with major international hotel and accommodation companies, including InterContinental Hotels’ Group (IHG), Carlson Rezidor, Hilton London Bankside, Sykes Cottages and Interhome.

  • An Accomable documentary was shortlisted at the UN Enable Film Festival in New York
