Cyclefest at the Mobility Roadshow Scotland
If you have any kind of mobility difficulty it doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t take a cycle ride, either solo or with family and friends. Visitors to the Mobility Roadshow Scotland on 17th and 18th September at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston can take part in Cyclefest – a focus on all ability cycling options from tiny trikes to companion, passenger, tandem, hand and wheelchair cycling, with specialist advice and assessment available to assist visitor choice.
Launched at the Peterborough Mobility Roadshow in July, Cyclefest was an instant success, with visitors making the journey to the show specifically for the opportunity to try out a range of options. “We are absolutely amazed at the range and advice available,” said visitor Joanne Connelly, visiting with disabled son James (11) who was elated to be trying out a handcycle - the first time he had been able to ride a bike.

Mobility Roadshow Heads for Scotland
The Mobility
Roadshow Scotland returns to the Royal Highland Centre near Edinburgh on Friday
17th and Saturday 18th September 2010.
The fourth Mobility Roadshow to be held in Scotland, it brings together on one site a great choice of mobility, healthcare and rehabilitation products, services, advice and information for disabled and older people throughout Scotland and the North of England, for whom help with mobility ensures a more active and independent lifestyle.
A varied line up of exhibitors from all mobility sectors will showcase their latest innovations and models - motor manufacturers; conversion and adaptation specialists; wheelchair, scooter, bike and trike companies; independent living products for the home; as well as organisations offering information and advice on all aspects of mobility.
This is a rare opportunity to test drive and compare adapted and converted vehicles, including drive-from-wheelchair and wheelchair passenger models. Several motor manufacturers and conversion specialists will have brand-new models that were launched last month at the UK national Mobility Roadshow.
Visitors can also try and assess wheelchairs, scooters and mobility cycles for comfort and safety - from high-end power chairs to lightweight portable models that are ideal to store in the boot of a car.

the Sports Arena will again be buzzing with activity: you can check out and join in a variety of
sports including basketball, boccia, wheelchair tennis, badminton, new-age
curling and archery, as well as gain advice from Lothian Disability Sport on
where to access sports and fitness clubs in your own area. You can scale the 7 metre accessible climbing
wall, or take part in Cyclefest - a hugely popular feature of the Roadshow at
