Sailing is open to everyone, no matter what age or disability so if you’d like to discover how to get out on the water than make sure you visit RYA Sailability on Stand C1
The Sailability team will be on hand throughout the weekend on stand C1 with all the information you need including where to go, which boat is best for you and how to get started.
“We’re really excited to be returning to the Mobility Roadshow this year” said Joff McGill, RYA Sailability Manager. “Whether you want to enjoy the freedom and tranquillity of being out on the water, or try something more adrenalin fuelled or progress into racing, sailing has something for everyone. It’s one of the very few sports in which people of all abilities can participate equally”.
Visitors will be able to find out more about the 200 Sailability sites across the UK that are well equipped with hoists, launching ramps, specially adapted changing rooms and qualified instructors. Also on display will be a Hansa 303 which is one of the specially adapted boats that most disabled sailors start their sailing experiences in.
“There are so many options when it comes to getting out on the water whether it’s on your own or as a group. Through Sailability thousands of people with disabilities have already been introduced to the sport and we’re looking forward to meeting even more potential sailors at the show”.
The Mobility Roadshow takes place at NAEC Stoneleigh, Warwickshire over the weekend of 01-3 June.
