| Stuart Dunne
| In 1985 at the age of 17, Stuart unfortunately encountered a ditch following a triple rollover in a Mk II Escort and severed his spinal cord at the C6 vertebrae, leaving him paralysed from the chest down and loss of function in finger flexion. Disastrous - only weeks before he had been talking to RAF recruitment about university sponsorship with the intention to fly GR1 Tornado aircraft. The childhood dream had come to an end. Following the traumatic spinal cord injury, Stuart began the long and painful road to recovery and a radically altered lifestyle. He continued his education and part qualified as a management accountant, with a place at one of the UK`s premier chemical companies - life was going to be steady. But Stuart wasn`t ready for steady, so in 1989 he formed a company manufacturing wheelchairs, which then went on to be one of the industry`s leading active mobility and fitness equipment providers. In May 2007 Stuart sold Cyclone and now acts as consultant to the company. One of his many passions, now he has the time, is to gain his Private Pilot`s Licence and re-ignite the childhood dream.
Stuart is shown here on the left of the picture, taking a Microlite flight at last year`s Mobility Roadshow.
